We were the first crew that Jeff Stanton ran his adventures with! We have been adventure riding at that point for many years, I can tell you that he took us on one of the best all-around rides we have ever been on! The varied terrain, the surprising sand in the middle of Michigan, not expected at all! The food, first class, Two Hats Ranch facility, and of course Jeff Stanton… One hell of a human being! He has stories for days! Jeff was one of my childhood motocross heroes so it will be a trip I will not soon forget! I would love to get back and do another!
I did one day training and 1 day touring. Training was so friendly and effective. The provided motorcycles were capable and comfortable (even heated grips and seat). The tour went through hilly and curvy roads, some 2-track and what seemed to be a snowmobile trail. It pushed my abilities, but felt the more fulfilling for having done so. The ranch where we stayed was extreme comfortable with excellent hospitality and food.
What can I say that hasn't already been said about this Adventure Ride? Jeff and Sara are such gracious hosts and outstanding humans. Low-key, unpretentious, great communicators/story tellers and supreme riders. The accommodations are spectacular for this type of event. The food is outstanding. Jeff, Sara and Fred kept everyone informed and safe while providing excellent instruction, when asked, or when needed.
The bikes (Triumph Tiger 900's for all participants on this ride) performed flawlessly and the extra amenities - heated grips and seats, quick-shifters, multiple ride modes - were very welcomed on the chilly start to the day and to tackle the varied terrain that we encountered over the two ride days.
The fall colors were starting to pop and Jeff lead us through rolling farmland - on dirt roads - and through the middle of the forest on seasonal roads and forest service roads which put us 'into' the local landscape and scenery. The Michigan riding options are so varied that it's difficult to choose which way to go at almost every intersection!
From the Lake Michigan shoreline to the rivers in the middle of the state and national forests, and everywhere in between, we were never wanting for more scenery or riding options.
Great people, great riding and great fun for all who attended!
